Goals

One thing I have learned is that it is never too late to set goals. Goals for the day, week, year or your life.

Most people feel that the new year gives an opportunity for a new you. I think that time of the year is way too stressful to start goals. We usually sure them with others at the same time and feel embarrassed when we haven't completed our goals.

I recently began using Instagram seriously and found some amazing goal setting folks. People who are doing life goal setting with a focus on GOD.

That is what I want for my life - to really study and know that word - to develop an even closer walk with GOD.

I also need to start eating healthy (or clean - the new buzz word) and exercising regular.  Too often, I sit at work thinking of a way NOT to exercise that evening. NO MORE!!!

One of the items I am using to help with my goals is from Lara Casey. She has developed this really great product Power Sheets.  It's amazing the work that she has put into the sheets and helping others to attain their goals. They really make you dig deep. I'm at a point in my life now where I feel like I need to dig much deeper into myself.

It's not always fun. These exercises are designer to really get into who you are and what you want for your life.

What tools do you use for goal setting?

I'll keep you posted as I go thru this journey!

Office Supplies - I'm Obsessed

I am obsessed with office supplies. I have always been obsessed with great office supplies. Just a few years ago, it was hard to find really great, cool office supplies. Well, not anymore. You can find some awesome office supplies just about everywhere. One of my favorite places is Lifeguard Press. They carry Kate Spade NY office supplies - even more than on the Kate Spade website!

These are some of the most recent items I've added to my home office:

High Tea 2014

Every year for the past 13 or so years, I plan a High Tea event. Typically, it is held in early January - the first Saturday in January to be specific.

Last year was the first year we held it at Serenity in Zionsville, Indiana. Serenity is in a quaint house converted into a restaurant on brick lined Main Street. There are shops galore on the street and the side streets.

We have had as many attendees as 50 at the High Tea. That was back in the old Canterbury Hotel days. It was fun, but not quite as personal as I like.

Lately, I have capped it at 15 attendees. This is much more personal. This year was amazing. All of the ladies were able to catch up with each other.

My newest nephew, Caleb was the first man EVER to be included in our High Tea. Let's just say that he was the hit of our party!

The photos were taken by the amazing Tyjuana Hill - Smith Photography.  Tyjuana is the best photography and an even better person. I am so happy to have her in my life. She has agreed to be the official photographer at our events!  BE sure to check out her website here for more of her work.

Enjoy your day!

Good Morning, Beautiful!

Good Morning, Beautiful!

I am a morning person - an EARLY morning person. So early, in fact, that many times I beat the birds up!

I think I have always been the type to go to bed early and wake early. There is something about the brightness of a new day that I love. All of the new possibilities for the day - just waiting for me.

I know that not everyone is a morning person. So, I got to thinking - What would be some things that may get a person moving in the morning?

  • This Good Morning, Beautiful mug is so cute. Who wouldn't want to wake up and have a cup of joe in this?
  • My new favorite coffee drink is a latte with whip. No flavors. I am going to miss having a Starbuck's in my building.
  • Chocolate croissants. I first had one while we were in NYC.  The second one I had was in a little French pastry shop in Paris. Both were heavenly! Hopefully, you have a great bakery near you that serves chocolate croissants.
  • Omelets - love, love, love an egg white omelet. My fave items to put in my omelet? Onions, green pepper, mushrooms, chicken and cheese. Awwwww......................
  • Breakfast at Tiffany's. This doesn't happen nearly enough - lol. On our first trip to NYC, my husband grabbed some pastries and coffee and we headed to Tiffany's. Mind you, it was 9AM and the store wasn't open, but we were able to walk around and have our goodies.
What gets you up in the morning?
